Sander Kristel, chief information officer at Staffordshire County Council has posted an interesting blog on the lessons they’ve learnt to date in their information sharing journey. It’s well worth a read but here are some of the points he picks out:
a. Trust between agencies is absolutely key.
b. Stop hiding behind legislation or the ICO… Bluntly put, if you plan to leave sensitive personal data in a pub then expect a fine, if that’s not what you are trying to achieve just get on with it.
c. The people that deliver services on the frontline are responsible for the information related to those services. Make sure they are interested in it!
