It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas so it’s time for a look back at the work of the Centre over the past twelve months. It’s not just to blow our own trumpet about how we’ve helped to move on the conversation about information sharing but also a chance to recap on any tasty morsels you might have missed. I know Christmas is the traditional time for presents, but we’ve been passing out gifts for the last twelve months.

Gift 1: An alternative Christmas film
The festive film is a tradition in many families and I’m sure you all have your favourites; Home Alone, Elf, It’s a Wonderful Life to name just a few. However back in September we released our own film. Granted it wasn’t strictly festive, but it did give an interesting insight into the International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners conference and starred our director Stephen Curtis on location in Hong Kong. So, grab some popcorn, snuggle down under a blanket with a warm drink and enjoy.

Gift 2: Understanding the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
If your organisation was to write a letter to Santa I bet the first thing on the list was a better understanding of the GDPR, which comes into force on 25 May 2018. Well, call us Santa, because we took part in a number of webinars and conferences which focused on the opportunities the new legislation brings for organisations. A perfect introduction to how to make the most of GDPR and you can find it all on our GDPR page.

Gift 3: The gift that keeps on giving
Our final gift from the past twelve months is one that keeps on giving – our brand new website. The old one was looking a little tired, so we gave it a fresh lick of paint, made it even easier to navigate around and, like a tree at Christmas, decorated it with baubles of information sharing knowledge for you to download and enjoy all year round.

Of course, our list of presents from 2017 is longer than the three above. The best way to find the rest is to make the most of gift three and peruse through the online selection box of information sharing goodies at www.informationsharing.org.uk. Best of all, unlike selection boxes, our site is calorie free so enjoy some guilt-free presents on us.
